Train Safe Barrel Plugs

Another safety device that Hufcor can provide is Train Safe barrel plugs. Although Hufcor safety manual recommends the use of colored (blue or red) safety/training weapons be used in the system, often, departments prefer to train with their own sidearms. Along with a recommended firearms safety procedure to clear a live weapon firearm, the Train Safe barrel plug is used to ensure that no live weapons can be accidentally used within a FlexTact system.

No Shoot Removable Graphics

Every FlexTact system should contain safety graphics to make sure that “no shoot” areas are clearly marked. Hufcor has graphics packages that include up to 10 standard panel tops, 2 pass doors and 2 windows.

Three main “no shoot” areas exist that reduce the risk of a non-lethal round escaping the FlexTact training area:
1. Top zones whenever catwalk overhead observation is being conducted.
2. Window frames open to the exterior
3. Pass door frames (shooting from inside to outside)

Action Target Clearing Chambers

Another safety device recommended by Hufcor is the use of a “clearing chamber.” Agencies often will opt to use their own sidearms for training. The Hufcor safety procedure requires that when using a live gun within a FlexTact system, the Range Security Officer MUST check any weapon by firing into a clearing chamber.
